Excursions and itineraries in the Romagna hinterland

Thanks to Cattolica's excellent location on the Romagna Riviera, our guests will have the option of a large assortment of fascinating excursions and itineraries, enabling them to explore the splendid Romagna hinterland; it is just a short drive to ancient hamlets and medieval castles, offering insight into the traditions and history of this wonderful region.

One of the main itineraries available leads to the Republic of San Marino, a tiny independent state in the heart of Italy, 41 km from the hotel.
There, guests are able to visit the fortifications, Churches and Museums to find out about the town's history.
Also of great interest are trips to visit Gradara Castle, a few kilometres from Cattolica and the site of the love story between Paolo and Francesca, San Leo and Montefiore Castles, the medieval village of Saludecio, the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park and the Castle of the Malatesta family at Mondaino, which hosts the medieval festival known as the "Palio del Daino" in mid August.
